Amie's Academy Studio Policies
Music lessons for most students are 30 minutes in length and are given once a week. 45 minute lessons can be made available for more advanced students.
Tuition is $30.00 per 30 min. lesson and $40.00 for 45 min. lessons. All students need to commit to a full “school year” of lessons. The studio will open the weekend after traditional Wake County schools begin and will close on Friday of the last week of school in May, with a one week break for Thanksgving, two weeks over Christmas and New Years, and a week in the spring. Summer lessons are encouraged, especially for beginners. There are no lessons offered in August.
Payment for each month should be received on the first lesson of each month. Watch for a monthly e-mail specifying how many lessons your student will have in any given month. I accept check or Venmo. My Venmo account is Amie-Prendes.
If you need to cancel a lesson, please let me know as soon as possible BEFORE the lesson so we can reschedule. I have left Sundays open for make-up lessons between 2:00-4:00pm. If we are unable to find a time that works for both of us to make-up the lesson in person, we will make it up in an online lesson via Facetime. It is important that no lessons are missed. If you forget to come to a lesson or can’t make it but don’t let me know, there will be no refund for that missed lesson.
Please do your best to arrive on time and pick up your student on time. Any student 7 or under or any new beginner student needs to be accompanied by a parent or older sibling. If you are staying for the lesson, please plan to park in on of the parking spaces in front of my house. Younger siblings who do not take lessons are not invited to attend the lessons unless you have talked to me. Younger siblings cause disruptions and distractions.
We will have one recital. It will be held on a Sunday afternoon in the spring. Every student should plan to participate in the recital.
Students are expected to practice daily! Please be sure that the student brings all required books, notebooks, and folders to each lesson.
